PRECISION ACADEMIC INTERVENTION. ONE STUDENT AT A TIME.

Liftoff For 2025

Unlock

Lion Pride was founded in 2020 by teachers determined to support their students’ emergency needs during COVID-19. Later, it expanded to support students’ post-pandemic “re-entry” into the community by mitigating their academic slide through summer camp scholarships and after-school enrichment. Now, in 2025, we are unlocking the next phase of Lion Pride.

Our teachers see a pressing need for individual, targeted reading and math support for select students. We are focused on a carefully chosen group of students with precision interventions involving the support of specialized tutors. We are laser-focused on identifying fourth and fifth-grade students who are performing below grade level in reading and math but are not eligible for district intervention programs or special education services.

Ignite

We know that time is of the essence because as their school workload increases in middle school, our students need a solid foundation. Numerous studies have proven that individualized tutoring is the most effective way to address specific needs directly. Test results from students enrolled in our Fall 2024 pilot program demonstrated the strength of individual tutoring in helping students make gains in phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension.

In a school cluster that prides itself on its International Baccalaureate emphasis and notable academic achievements, it would be a tragedy to allow these bright young minds to enter middle school without the support they need—the same support that many Sandy Springs families in the cluster commonly pay for through private tutoring. Help us ignite the academic skills necessary to become lifelong learners and enter middle school with a bright future.

liftoff

We are determined to leave no child behind and see them all liftoff from Lake Forest and thrive in middle school. As always, we welcome the support of our Sandy Springs community, and frankly, we can’t do it without our friends and our neighbors.
